A History of The Anatomic Gel Footwear Company - The Comfort Shoemakers

The company, Anatomic & Co was originally founded by Jose Rosa Jacomete as the Brazilian Anatomic & Co and is also well-known for its Anatomic Gel Technology. Over the years the Anatomic Gel Technology has evolved and become increasingly successful within the footwear market worldwide; as well as Anatomic & Co's recognition for their human rights ethics and fair-trade.

At thirteen years of age Jose Rosa Jacomete (nicknamed Zuza by his family) left home to work in a footwear factory where he learnt numerous skills including pattern cutting, designing, shoemaking as well as training and practising at the technology centres that were specific to the footwear trade. Initially, Zuza had taken this job on to earn money for his family but after twenty years experience within the footwear industry, he decided to open his own small factory. Furthermore, he opened the factory with the focus that the shoes he would produce would be made with materials of exceptional quality and price as well as providing comfortable shoes.

Thus, the Anatomic Gel Technology was created, with soles, new leathers, linings and shoe fittings tested to intensified levels. Zuza had developed shoes that included soft sheep leather linings, exceptional leather uppers, smooth internal seams and padded ankle supports that gave cushioning comfort and a classic style. This was what led to the success of the Anatomic & Co footwear: the excellent comfort the shoes provide without once sacrificing the style of them.

Following more than twenty years of researching and development, the brand has become even more successful. Anatomic & Co first entered the UK market and is now sold in over 60 countries, worldwide. This quality and comfort brand doesn't just attract the older generations but younger ones too who are looking for the same trainer-like comfort within their leather shoes.
