Maintaining Your Timberland Boots – Cleaning, Protecting, Waxing & Repairing

Over time, and with repeated wear, your Timberland boots may become slightly scuffed and show dirt. Having seen every type of weather and ground condition, this is a small factor considering the comfort and support these boots will have provided you with over time. However, there is no reason why, with the correct care, your Timberland boots shouldn't be in the same pristine condition they were when you first purchased them. Here are a few handy tips on how to maintain the high-quality look of your Timberland footwear:

Cleaning Your Boots:

Try to remove any excess dirt from your Timberland post-wear using a soft brush. This doesn't have to be every time you have worn the boots but by keeping on top of this cleaning method, you won't allow the dirt to build up.

Using Timberland Boot Sauce Cleaner, apply a small amount to the designated areas. The Boot Sauce features a handy sponge applicator which allows you apply the product easily and to specific areas. Work the gel into the areas before wiping clean with a damp cloth. This Boot Sauce is suitable for all types of footwear, but isn't recommended for nubuck leather or suede.
Dry the boot naturally.

Protecting Your Boots:

Timberland have introduced a  Timberland Balm Proofer All Purpose Protector  which allows you to protect your boots from day one, with stain and water-repelling properties this product will protect your boots from stains caused by oil/alcohol and salt.

Before application, ensure your boots are completely dry.
From a distance of around 6-8 inches, spray the product evenly over the footwear until all of the surface is covered. Please note – do not just protect certain areas of your boots as this could cause the boot to look a different colour to the other parts.
After the product has been applied for 1-2 minutes, gently begin to wipe the surface of the boot with a damp cloth. This removes any surplus liquid and prevents discolouring in certain areas.
Then, allow your product to dry.
If you are using the product on suede or nubuck leather, use a nylon brush to raise the nap and the return the product to its natural colour.
Repeat this process as and when it appears your boots aren't repelling water as effectively as before.
Suitable for any types of footwear (always read the label accordingly).

For Oil and Waxed Leathers:

The Timberland Waximum Waxed Leather Protector offers protection for your oiled and waxed footwear products. Containing oils and waxes that naturally protect and soften your footwear, this maintains the leathers without affecting its breathability.

To apply, make sure the shoes are clean and dry.
Then, apply the product by using a dry cloth to work it into the leather.
Do not buff the footwear after application.
Not recommended for suede or nubuck leather.

Replacing Laces:

With repeated wear you may find that your laces become weaker; thus, it is a good idea to replace these to ensure maximum comfort is continued within your Timberland boots.

A simple  Timberland Brown Relace Kit  allows you to quickly and easily replace your laces, with a handy lacing tool. The laces are also provided at 45 inches in order for you to cut them to the required size.
Simply by threading the end of your shoelace into the lacing tool you can follow the original or lace-up pattern of your choice.
We recommend that you lace up your shoes before cutting the laces, simply cutting excess laces away once you have allowed enough room for you to comfortably insert your foot into your boot and so on.

With a little maintenance and care, your Timberland boots will continue to serve you as the comfortable, high-quality boots that they are.
