Ecco have proudly announced that Gerina Piller, LPGA Tour rookie is to join their ever-growing team of staff players. She will be wearing their innovative new ranges of Ecco Biom and Golf Street models; ones that have proved incredibly popular in the golfing world already.
Piller recently finished in fifth place on the 2010 Futures Tour money list, earning her her full LPGA Tour status. Formerly known as Gerina Mendoza, she began her passion for golf during her late teens in her native home of New Mexico, and at just 26-years-old she finished as runner-up three times last year, also leading the Futures Tour with her driving distance. Recently married to PGA Tour player, Martin Piller, Gerina Piller continues to go from strength to strength.
Marketing Manager of Ecco Golf, Jesper Thuen, spoke about Piller's signing:
'The world first came to know Gerina through her appearance on Golf Channel's Big Break Prince Edward Island...Since then, she's proved she has serious game to go along with her beauty and personality. We're all excited to watch her career reach new heights now that she's competing full time on the LPGA Tour.'
Gerina Piller will be wearing the newer range of Ecco Biom's, which employ Ecco's philosophy of the shoe following the foot and not the other way round. The Biom range rids shoes of any unnecessary features, believing in the power of the foot alone; meaning the Biom shoe will enhance this natural motion, creating a more comfortable, higher-performing shoe.
She will also be wearing the Ecco Golf Street range which was first made famous by Freddie Couples. The trainer-like golf shoe offers all of the traditional features of a golf shoe but within a trainer-like style, allowing you to walk from the golf course and down the street without changing your footwear.
