They pay homage to these influential people by recreating the footwear that helped them to serve their purposes in history. Their boots and shoes reflect a deep respect for the exceptional craftsmanship that has been essential throughout history.

In their ladies collection, Timberland merge the practicality of the brand with a contemporary beauty, using covered buttons and patterns blending them with simple details and stitching, borrowed from this past.

Of particular influence is the Haverhill, Massachusetts shoe factories where women first began to enter into the workforce, establishing their own voices and careers. Therefore, Timberland's collection for Fall 2011 reflects this spirit and desire to succeed, creating unique designs of femininity and durability, whilst also mirroring the footwear that would have once been worn by these proud women.

This collection is inspired by the transition period of women first entering the workforce; again reflecting both beauty and practicality. They are constructed in a feminine way, yet offer a durable simplicity allowing for warmth and comfort when journeying from the office in winter. Constructed with heels and leather overlays, teamed with antique leather uppers and delicate stitching they take on a look that appears gently repaired.
