New England, from 1900-1945 provides Timberland Boot Company with their inspiration for Autumn 2011 as it was a time that truly tested all of the ideals that had previously founded America. Therefore, this time in history was particularly influenced by the men and women who were present, influencing the America that many know and love today.

To pay homage to this historic era, Timberland have created a fantastic collection of boots and shoes that are nostalgically connected to this past through the materials, stories, values and craftsmanship of their footwear. Their footwear will have served numerous purposes, which is why Timberland wanted their boots to reflect this endurance whilst also maintaining the respect that one should have for the construction of shoes and boots.

The men's collection is particularly inspired by the hard-work of the men of the era and the requirement of durability for their boots for wear all day, everyday. Alongside this durability, they needed to fit comfortably, like an old friend, easily repairable should they wear out. New shoes weren't easily bought, so many boots and shoes were repaired and born again, inspiring some of the design features of the Timberland Autumn 2011 collection.

Timberland's Autumn 2011 collection is made for purpose, with a lifetime of use available from each boot. Using rugged leathers, purposeful styles, dependable soles and sturdy seams, Timberland have ensured that their footwear is both practical and durable. Equally, their boots have been teamed with a distinguished New England character, invented by the Timberland Boot Company to be built to last and ready and waiting for the outdoors.

~ Eastern Standard Series ~

Made exclusively from U.S. materials, such as the Horween® Leather, this collection mirrors the exceptional craftsmanship of New England. Local craftsman using traditional methods have used classic patterns to ensure that these shoes are built to be worn and last, as well as demanding a respect to be worn with pride and repaired so they last a lifetime.

~ Tackhead Series ~

This series was inspired by the industrial era, allowing these boots to be outdoor-worthy and rugged. Constructed using materials from the U.S. and U.K. these boots have been lovingly crafted in the Dominican Republic using the resilient Horween® leather and British Millerain® waxed canvas uppers. Crafted with Goodyear Welted Construction (a method employed for genuine work boots) the rubber lug outsole have been attached in such a way that is repairable should it be necessary – a true homage to the reborn quality of shoes from the industrial era.
