Van Dal Give An Insight Into Their Styles For Autumn/Winter 2012
Posted By: Rebecca | Published: 02-08-12

OK, so we might not have even made it through this winter just yet, but Van Dal have got some tempting insights into their Autumn/Winter range for 2012 that might just have you wishing it was next winter already...

Their ranges have been inspired by the continuing global economic struggles, with styles that reflect those who continue to be optimistic and nostalgic for times gone by or the more rebellious scorn for the times we now find ourselves within. They reflect these moods with British heritage collections and Russian ballet inspired ranges, to name a few.

From Russia With Love

To distract customers from the continuing bleakness, Van Dal have turned to theatricals to brighten up even the most dismal of days. Glamour is still an essential part of many a woman's life and this is what the 'From Russia With Love' collection provides, with embellishments added to dark, rich colours. Van Dal will also offer optional trims to some of their court styles in the Made in England collection, allowing you to make the shoes as glamorous as you want.

Highland Fling

Paying homage to the great British outdoors, Van Dal will also draw inspiration from the Scottish Highlands, bringing the moors of heather, Medieval castles and luscious landscapes to life in their collection. These will be presented using traditional soft courts, bonnie brogues and suede wedges, uniting classic styles with modern twists.

Clear Concept

To ensure customers have a clear direction, Van Dal take a look at the mid-twentieth century, taking inspiration from the architecture, being particularly inspired by mid fifties furniture companies Ercol, G-Plan and Parker-Knoll.

The shoes will reflect these clear concepts with simple lines and clear shapes, with a bold appearance. These will be introduced within the simplecomfort collection, a range that continues to offer minimalistic simplicity. Alongside this collection there will be a range of waterproof boots, ones whose technology includes direct moulding and a waterproof membrane protection to the boots.

Made in England

The Van Dal Vintage collection was first introduced in 2011 to celebrate their 75th anniversary within the shoe industry and the Britishness of this collection continues to be a popular aspect particularly following the Royal Wedding and the up-coming Jubilee. It also celebrates a continued attempt to revive the British manufacturing industry.

Using the inspiration of previous designs from their back catalogue, Van Dal have extended their 'Made in England' collection, bringing them to present day with modern twists and contemporary profiles.

An up-coming style to watch out for is the Aurora II, an example of a classic ladies court shoe that has been given a twist of the Russian Ballet glitz.

Don't Make Do. Amend.

With the continued desire to create new qualities within our own styles, Van Dal utilise this within some of their collections allowing for a mix and match group of removable trims that will allow you to create numerous styles from one shoe.

Embellishments are a key item of fashion, bringing glamour to your outfits, or choosing a simple court style you can create a simple elegance without the embellishments.

Their group of trims will be available to use with their plain court styles or handbags, with some styles, including the Holt, having had one embellishment already included to give the wearer two different looks. With up to four different trims available, one pair of shoes that you make do with is no longer the case as you can choose one of numerous possibilities.

Autumnal Wedges

We love the wedge and as part of the Highland collection, the wedge plays a key role, providing a dressier style of boot for the autumn/winter seasons. Teamed with contemporary details and modern materials, e.g. suede, this provides you with boots that unite style with practicality. Using ion mask technology, they are incredibly comfortable and are available in both knee-high and ankle styles.

Winterproof Boots

Introducing their new range of VanGuard boots, Van Dal have created waterproof and breathable boots that will keep your feet warm, dry and stylish next winter. Ensuring that comfort is not sacrificed Van Dal have also used a lightweight PU moulded outsole, which doesn't just provide additional cushioning but a thermal protection too. Other design features also include an antibacterial lining, a moulded ankle support and an anatomically moulded footbed.

These boots will be available in nappa and soft crinkle patent leather, providing you with clean, bold lines that are perfect for adding to a chic, dressy winter outfit.

Simple Comfort

This collection was introduced three seasons ago and offers a comfortable, contemporary range of shoes that are perfect for prolonged wear, giving you confidence in both your style and footwear comfort.

Being both flexible and soft, these shoes and boots are designed to mould to your foot so you'll feel like you're walking around in your most comfortable slippers.

Bonnie Brogues

As the craze for the more masculine lines continues, Van Dal will introduce a range of feminine brogues that will provide you with an edgy, stylish look. Crafted to perfection with the traditional punched upper detail and soft nutty leathers, these shoes have also been giving a fantastic flexibility to allow you a smart style but with all of the comfort you require.

Your Flexible Friend

As Van Dal continue to try and provide their customers with the traditional Van Dal style they adore but with all of the comfort one needs on a daily basis, Van Dal have deconstructed their favourite styles to look for ways to provide this comfort and style.

The technical involvement in creating shoes with perfect lines and their general overall appearance can often leave them lacking in flexibility, which can make the shoes terribly uncomfortable. Thus, Van Dal have introduced leather courts that give comfort and style with the suppleness of the leathers, a flexible outsole and a comfortable lining.

Who's ready for Winter 2012 after hearing about all of these sensational styles? We are!
