The Style 101 Boot has been re-introduced recently due to popular demand and with it it brings a historical story behind its origins. The Red Wing Style 101 was first introduced in the 1960's as a comfortable working shoe for those whose job entailed standing on their feet for numerous hours per day; the policemen and postmen of America. During the 1960's policemen would still have been walking their beats and the postmen, walking their delivery routes, which therefore put a lot of strain and pressure upon their feet. Therefore, Red Wing designed a work shoe that was both comfortable and durable, while all the time maintaining a high-quality appearance that was in-fitting with uniforms.

With its highly polished finish, the Style 101 is easily maintained with frequent polishing using Black Shoe Cream to ensure the boot keeps its luxurious quality.
