Red Wing's Footwear History – Chelsea Rancher Boot

A distinguished boot, that has exceptional qualities, being stylish, comfortable and incredibly durable. Thus, it is clear that this boot was constructed with a purpose (as with all Red Wing boots) and it was the American sheep ranchers that provided the inspiration for this style of Red Wing boot. The Chelsea Rancher was created to incorporate all the needs of the sheep ranchers, from the pull-on tags that allow for speed and ease when pulling ones boots on, should the sheep ranchers need to make haste if their sheep were in trouble; to the durable, hard-wearing sole and leather upper.

Constructed using the Goodyear Welt method and the highest quality of leather uppers, these boots continue to serve multiple purposes. Continuing their role, they make for an exceptional work boot or are equally suited to being a fashionable, casual or dress boot. Using boot oil or leather cleaner, these boots are also incredibly easy to maintaining, adding to their versatility and practicality.

Red Wing Chelsea Ranchers are available in two significant styles:

Chelsea Rancher Style 2917 Briar Oil Slick Leather upper, which provides a water, stain and perspiration resistant material for the boot. The leather is also of a soft, mellow appearance and after being oiled and waxed has distinguished features that are hard sought.
Chelsea Rancher Style 2918 Black Star Leather upper, which offers a durable leather that can be easily treated with black leather conditioner. This leather is also water, stain and perspiration resistant.
